The Nike Kobe 11 is the last signature shoe that Kobe will ever wear as an NBA player, so it’s only right that one of the colorways released pays homage to the high school he came from. Today we get our first look at the Nike Kobe 11 Lower Merion.
Since Kobe Bryant went from high school straight to the NBA, he has no college alma mater. So Lower Merion High School is officially considered his alma mater. The high school inspired colorway dons the team’s colors which consist of grey and white with hits of maroon. Notable features on the shoe include the Aces logo/branding on the heel, and the fact that Nike decided to utilize engineered mesh on the upper instead of the customary Flyknit construction. If you’re diggin’ the look of the shoe you will soon be able to pick it up as it’s slated to release on April 9th (internationally) for the retail price of $160.

Not really sure why the decided to construct the shoe using engineered mesh opposed to Flyknit. The show would have looked 10x better it it was done with Flyknit.
